The ski trails area is used by cross country skiers during the winter when snow covers the ground. During that period hikers are asked to walk to the side of the ski tracks. However when there is no snow on the ground or skiing is not possible the ski trails make great hiking options. The McCrea Farm ski trails offer a collection of trails with many loops, lengths, and difficulty levels.
The McCrea Farm Ski Trails are located on the hill top on the east side of the park. Most of the trails are wide and have very little elevation change thus making it easy to take a leisurely walk in the woods.
The area has 3 major trails. Each trail is blazed with a different color. Trail maps are posted along the trail. The Green Trail (green blaze) is 0.6 miles long, is easy walking an gently sloping terrain. The Blue Trail is 2.6 miles long but still gently sloping terrain. The Red Trail is 5.8 miles long and is more challenging both because of its length and more challenging terrains. In addition to the main trails, there are 6 white blazed cross (connecting) trails that allow for many different loop lengths. The Red Trail connects with the Gerard Trail along 2 sections. On those sections the trail is blazed with both red and yellow markings.
