The purpose of this project is to improve the habitat for the park's blue birds.
Bluebird Monitors start around the first of March and work until the end of nesting season, usually by August. They clean boxes out early and then check them for bluebirds. Once birds have nested, volunteers keep track of the birds on at least a weekly basis. At the end of the season boxes are cleaned out. Volunteers build, post and maintain blue bird nesting boxes at several locations in the park. At the end of the season, reports are turned in to the park office.
