The purpose is to improve the habitat and nesting success for the park's blue bird population.
Bluebird Monitors start around the first of March and work until the end of nesting season, usually by August. They clean out boxes early and then check them during the season for eggs. Once birds have nested, volunteers keep track of the birds on at least a weekly basis. At the end of the season boxes are cleaned out and reports are turned in to the park office.. Volunteers build and maintain nesting boxes at several locations in the park.
